Winifred (Erb) Paul, 94, of Scottdale, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home.
Winifred was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Newton, Kansas, the oldest child of the late Paul and Alta (Eby) Erb.
She was married to Charles Milford Paul, who passed away Feb. 21, 2015.
Winifred graduated from both Hesston and Goshen colleges with a B.A. degree in education and moved to Scottdale in 1946, where she taught school for a year at the Johnstown Mennonite School. She was active in her church, both at North Scottdale Mennonite Church and later at Kingview Mennonite Church. In 1966, Winifred began work with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a caseworker for the Department of Welfare in Fayette County, retiring in 1986.
In 1947, Winifred married Charles Milford Paul, a marriage that lasted 67 years, until his death in 2015. They lived in Scottdale their entire married life. She and Milford loved to travel and spent time in retirement visiting England, South America, Europe, and Africa, as well as taking many trips throughout the U.S.
Winifred will be sadly missed by her loving family: her four children, Philip Paul and wife Susan Rothmann of Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara Paul Miller and her husband John of Harrisonburg, Va., Roger Herr-Paul and wife Marianne Herr-Paul of Greencastle, and Alta Paul Dezort and her husband William of Normalville; her 10 grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Delbert Erb and family of Argentina.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Paul (2017).
