William John "Bill" Thomas Sr., 55, of Vanderbilt, passed away at 6:29 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at his residence. Bill was born July 4, 1959, in Connellsville, a son of the late Jacob Cumberson and Ruby Thomas. Bill was a carpenter by trade, working in the construction field, and a veteran, serving in the Army. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family; his three children, William John Swank and his wife, Misty, Stacy Dix and her husband, Chad, and William John Thomas Jr. and his companion, Ocie, all of Mt. Pleasant; his devoted special companion, Debra Hunter, of Vanderbilt; numerous grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary (Pirl) Thomas (March 23, 2012); and his stepgrandson, Scott A. Jeffries Jr. (May 25, 2012).
