Willaim E. Sterrett Sr., 88 of Scottdale passed away at 6:30 PM Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Easy Living Estates, Hunker. Bill was born March 6, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Roy McKinley and Bessie (Felgar) Sterrett. He married Beverly H. (Hodgkiss) Sterrett on June 6, 1959.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Scottdale High School, Class of 1955 and was employed in the maintenance and custodial department with the Southmoreland School System. Years ago, he worked as a machinist at Permali. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, a 60-year member of the Marion Masonic Lodge #562, and a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection and the Valley of Pittsburgh. Bill also served in the PA National Guard and enjoyed hunting, wood working, and  fishing.

Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 65 years, Beverly H. (Hodgkiss) Sterrett; his two children, Sherri Stern and her husband Andrew and William E. Sterrett Jr.; his grandchildren, Aaron Stern and wife Teresa of Seattle, WA and Lauren Schmidt and husband Nate of Mesa, AZ; his great grandchildren, Eva and Lincoln; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Mary Ella McConnell, Emma Jean Sterrett, and Ivelyn Myers; and his brother, Roy Sterrett.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday and from 10-11 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Pastor Janet Lord officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery. The Marion Masonic Lodge #562 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
