William R. "Bill" Steiner, 91, of Scottdale, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Bill was born August 29, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Ludwig "Dutch" and Dora (Schurer) Steiner. He married the former Genevieve D. Lebe on Aug. 12, 1954. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was proprietor of the former Steiner's Roller Skating Rink in Scottdale for 40 years and co-owner of Huntingdon Lanes in Mt. Pleasant for 15 years. Bill was a member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Church in Scottdale and the Scottdale American Legion. A veteran of World War II, he served as a Private First Class in the Army from 1943-46 and was awarded the bronze star. Bill loved traveling, roller skating and taking care of kids! Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 60 years, Genevieve D. (Lebe) Steiner; his two children, Barbara Lynn and her husband, David, of Myersville, Md., and Gary Steiner, of Richmond, Va.; his two grandchildren, Liza Caton and her husband, Steve, and David Lynn IV; his four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Anthony, Addison and Parker Caton; and his two nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Steiner. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
