William Mehallick, 95, of Scottdale, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Bill was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Jeannette, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Koval) Mehallick. He was married to Marion K. (Bluhm) Mehallick, who passed away March 23, 1996. Bill was a devoted husband and father who worked for many years as a contractor in the family business. A
veteran
of the
Army
Air Corps, he served as a First Lieutenant during
World War II
. Bill's greatest source of pride was his service to his country, although he was extremely humble about it. As so many of his generation, he was a typical small hometown hero, who put his life on hold to serve his country, only to resume normal life again with no braggadocio whatsoever! Bill enjoyed golfing, frequenting the race tracks and a good cigar. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family; his sister, Betty Kelley; his brothers, Harry Mehallick and wife, Janice, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Michael Mehallick and wife, Patricia, of Everson; his son-in-law, David R. Kohler, Captain, USN (Ret), of West Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lissa Kohler; his brother, Bernard Mehallick; and his two sisters, Margaret King and Cathy Dull.
