William Terry
Hall
September 16, 1949 – March 17, 2023
William Terry Hall, 73, a longtime resident of Dawson, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in his home on March 17, 2023, comforted by his wife of 54 years, Ellen (Keffer) Hall. He is the son of the late William R. and Frances M. Hall. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Hall, and daughter, Deena (Wayne) Peffer of Dawson. He was the proud papa of two grandchildren, Wayne Peffer III and Mariah (Eric) Spellman. Terry is survived by four siblings: Sandra (Harry) Hall of Connellsville, Patricia (Michael) Hennessey of Dawson, Steven (Darla) Hall of Dawson, and Louis Hall of Dawson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Terry was a 1967 graduate of Connellsville High School. After high school he worked as an orderly at Westmoreland Hospital. In 1968, he began working at United States Steel Clairton Works. During a four year layoff, he drove tractor trailer for Reon Snyder in Scottdale, then returned to US Steel to retire in 2000 after 33 years. In retirement, he drove
tour coach buses for Colborn Bus Lines out of Mill Run and tri-axle for Hennessey Construction of Dawson.
He became a member of the James Cochran Lodge #614 of Connellsville in 1986. He served as acting master in 1989 and remained an active member for many years.
At an early age, Terry discovered a talent for music. Throughout the years, he taught himself to play the bass guitar and violin. He had the gift of playing music by ear and was at his happiest when he was singing and making music with his friends. He was easily recognized by his signature mustache and red bass guitar.
Terry began spending winters in Florida in 2016. There he discovered a network of friends and musicians, allowing him to play music while enjoying his favorite warm weather.
Terry will be remembered at a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to WVU Hospice of Uniontown.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON.
