Walter Ronald Knight, 69, of Connellsville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown.

Walt was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Vanderbilt, a son of the late Frank Z. and Hazel (Cramer) Knight.

Walt was retired from the maintenance department at Uniontown Hospital and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

Walter will be sadly missed by his loving family: his daughter, Samantha Knight of Scottdale; his sisters, Helen Gaudiello and husband John of Connellsville and Doris Kooser and husband Jim of Dickerson Run; his brothers, James Knight and wife Sandy of Dawson and Charles Knight and wife Sara of Juniata; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Knight; his brothers, Ralph and Roger Knight; and his sisters, Louise Kelly and Patty Soyka.

At Walt's request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Dickerson Run Union Cemetery Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Pelc officiating.

The Connellsville VFW Post 21 will bestow full military honors.
