Walter D. Fowler, 72, of RuffsDale, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Walter was born Sept. 12, 1948, in Connellsville, a son of the late Wayne and Irene (Pohto) Fowler. He married Vivian (Rimel) Fowler on July 15, 1972.

Walter was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He was employed in the manufacturing division at Elliott Company in Jeannette for 49 years. Walter was a graduate of Frazier High School, Class of 1966. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force/ US Army during the Vietnam War.

Walter will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 49 years, Vivian (Rimel) Fowler; his two sons, Wayne and Geoffrey Fowler, both of RuffsDale; his siblings, Shirley (Joe) Dutchko, Leona Brown, Laura Heckman, Joseph Jankowski, John (Bonnie) Jankowski; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth "Jake" Jankowski, Oscar, Wanye, Bob, Don, Ray, Vernonand David Fowler along with his sisters, Margaret, Iona, and Eva Fowler.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Kevin Bundridge officiating. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow full military honors in the funeral home prior to services. Private burial will follow in The VA Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
