Obituary

Virginia "Ginger" (Haas) Brady, 78 of Dawson, went to be with her Lord at 4:20 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Ginger was born February 24, 1939 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Robb Henry and Frances (McGuinness) Haas. She married David L. Brady on June 23, 1956.

Ginger was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She drove a school bus for many years, starting when her children were in school and later returned to bus driving after other professional endeavors until she retired at the age of 77. Through her driving years, she made each student a part of her life, remembering each and every one throughout the years.

She was also a grocery store manager with Davis Supermarkets in Greensburg. In 1989, she moved to Franklin, PA with her husband where she started working at Wolf Furniture (Heilig Myers) and then served as store manager at the new Giant Eagle grocery store in Oil City/Franklin region.

She enjoyed going to casinos, usually with her daughter and/or friend Sandy, and was pretty lucky with scratch-off lottery tickets. Ginger grew up a tom boy and was a very good athlete; playing softball until she was 50. She was a good golfer, usually breaking 90 and beating her husband, sons, and daughter consistently. Ginger rode motorcycles when she was younger, usually a Yamaha.

But the thing most dear to her was her family. She raised 4 boys and a girl, from whom she got 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, all and the same.

Ginger was a 50+year member of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Vanderbilt and attended the Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Scottdale.

Virginia will be sadly missed by her loving family; her husband of 60 years, David L. Brady Sr. who is looking to being with her in their Father's house; her four sons, David L. Brady Jr. and his wife Renee of Vanderbilt, Timothy S. Brady and his wife Amanda of Murrysville, Matthew J. Brady of Albion, and Daniel R. Brady and his wife Robyn of Vanderbilt; her daughter, Patricia L. Wilhelm and her fiancé Bob Tyson of Greentree; her grandchildren, Sarah L. McGinley (Michael), Amy S. Schwarz, Beth A. Smith (Jason), Grant D. Brady, Angelina C., Joshua C., and Elijah C. Brady, and John R. and Jamie P. Wilhelm; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Cameron, and Colleen McGinley, William and Maggie Schwarz, and Nathanael Brady; her three sisters, Maryann Dill, Carol Nicholson, and Sarah Ultchey (Tom); and her brother, Robb Haas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kay F. Nicholson.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the R alph E. Galley Funeral Home, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON (724-529-2611 / www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.

Additional viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the Calvin United Presbyterian Church, Scottdale where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Leonard Morgan and Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson co-officiating. Private interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson for his faithful witnessing and the Allegheny Health Care @ Home Hospice Service especially Cindy, Amanda, and Todd for their kindness and consideration. Love Lasts Forever!
