Thomas “Jeffrey” Tatsch, 73 of Monessen, PA passed away at 5:58pm Saturday, June 27, 2026, at AHN, Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1952, in Uniontown, PA. A son of the late Louis and Mary Jane (Armiger) Tatsch. He married Diane (Ribovich) Tatsch on September 9, 1978, who survives him. They have one son, Jesse Tatsch, who also survives him.
Jeff was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed cooking and grilling meals for his family. He was a 1971 graduate of Monessen High School.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 40 years as an Engineering Technician at Bombardier Transportation in West Mifflin, PA. He was a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Association and the Monessen Elks. He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was a member of the Mon Valley Football Chapter where he officiated football for over a decade with his son, Jesse. He umpired baseball alongside Jesse in the Mon Valley for over 20 years at various levels where they umpired every game together as Father and Son. He was an avid outdoorsman who was passionate about archery and rifle hunting. He harvested numerous trophy bucks in his 60 years of hunting.
Jeff will be sadly missed by his loving family: His wife of 47 years, Diane, and his son, Jesse. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his 2 surviving sisters, Patricia Gogol (Ray), of Monessen, and Verne Schaming (Charles) of Rostraver Township and niece, Lori Duda (Mitch) and her daughters, Harley Duda and Alexa Duda. One surviving nephew, Justin Tatsch, who shared his love of hunting. He is also survived by 3 nieces in Ohio: Tracy Hall, Melissa Kinlin and Betsy Fields. He is also survived by nephew, Louis Tatsch, also of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Louis R. Tatsch and John M. Tatsch, both of Ohio. And David J. Tatsch and Edward A. Tatsch.
