Obituary

THOMAS L. SCHOMER, 69 of Scottdale passed away at 9:58 PM Monday, September 29, 2025 at his residence. Tom was born on September 23, 1956 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late James E. and Shirley May (Hall) Schomer. He married Judith L. (Aller) Schomer on August 10, 1974, and she survives him.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1975 and was employed for close 30 years at Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in South Connellsville. He also worked as a machinist with Avonti Engineering in Greensburg and was a talented self-employed roofer. He and his wife were faithful members of the Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton where he served in the Men's Sunday School Class and volunteered in the Operation Christmas Children's Shoebox project. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending car shows and truck pulls.

Tom will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 51 years, Judith L. (Aller) Schomer; his three children, Thomas L. Schomer Jr. (Michele), Donald A. Schomer, and Dana M. Schomer; his five grandchildren, Cameron Schomer, Marisa Bailey, Tyler, Mason, and Skylar Schomer; his two great grandchildren, Sienna and Avery; his sister, Candy Sullenberger (Greg); his brother, David Schomer (Kendra Moore); his nieces and nephews, Ashley Tuttle (Matt), Greg Sullenberger (Yves), Natalie Genard, and Chelsie Levendosky (Ryan); and several great nieces and nephews.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 10 AM – 12 Noon Thursday in the Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton followed by funeral services at 12 Noon Thursday with Pastor Jason Kramer officiating.
