Thomas Jamison, 75, of Scottdale, passed away at 11:49 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Tom was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late William and Lorraine (Busby) Jamison, and was raised by his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Samella Childs (Jamison) Thomas and Louis Thomas. He was married to Sarah "Sally" Travis-Jamison for 38 years. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Over the years, he was employed as a cook at Applebees, Linden Hall, Seven Springs, PPG and Valley Dairy. A veteran of the Army, he served during the Vietnam Conflict as a staff sergeant, a career that spanned 21 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Scottdale, the Disabled Veterans Association and the Brookman-Hernley VFW Post No. 7781 in Scottdale. Tom also worked as a youth counselor at Auberle, as an auto mechanic following his graduation from Vale Tech, and as a member of the Laborer's District Council of Western Pennsylvania. He also enjoyed model trains, traveling by train, and was known for preparing fish dinners and barbecue at his church. Tom will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife, Sarah "Sally" Travis-Jamison; his children, Jacquelyn Danielle Jamison, of Bellwood, Ill., and Theresa Nichols and her husband Cyril, of Chicago, Ill., and their mother, Pearl; his children Anthony Bland Jamison, of San Diego, Calif., and Thomas Callvin Jamison, of Dallas, Texas, and their mother, Roberta; and children Louis Parker Travis-Jamison and his wife Jamie, of New Braunfels, Texas, and Lincoln Kurt Travis-Jamison, of Erie, and their mother, Sally; his seven grandchildren, Nikkia Monique Stone, Mychal Baker, Ciena (Steven) Dortch, Chloe Nichols, Cyril Nichols Jr., Parker Jamison and Maya Jamison; his great-grandchild, Bryson Alexander Dortch; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Jamison.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Harry Speakman officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery with full military honors bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard.
