Terry E. Armel, 62, of Hunker (formerly of Alverton), passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at his residence. Terry was born April 4, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Chelsie C. and Hazel R. Cunningham Armel, who passed away Dec. 11, 1994, and Nov. 15, 2009, respectively. Terry was a devoted father and grandfather and a retired painter, working throughout the Faywest area. He was a member of the Laurel Highlands Coon Hunt Club. Terry enjoyed coon and deer hunting and training hunting dogs. Terry will be sadly missed by his loving family, his daughter, Amanda Cifra, and her husband, Matthew Pilato, of Bear Rocks; his granddaughter, Breena Cifra; his six sisters, Connie Clark, and her husband, Bruce, of Scottdale, Linda Hone, and her husband, Frank, of Dawson, Gladys Green, of Scottdale, Sharon Hines, of Vanderbilt, Carol Gray, of Scottdale, and Dione Shallenberger, of Scottdale; his three brothers, Chuck Armel, of Alverton, Butch Armel, and his wife, Nadine, of Scottdale, and Jim Armel, and his wife, Jackie, of Norvelt; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion coon hound, Bank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Armel, on May 8, 2013.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Luke Lock officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Alverton Cemetery.
