Obituary


Shirley J. Swank, 61, of Alverton, passed away peacefully at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Shirley was born Nov. 17, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Amos and Florence (Greene) Swank. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked in housekeeping at the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant, and served as a school crossing guard in Kingview. She enjoyed watching TV, especially murder shows and wrestling. Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving family; her son, Eric Swank, of Alverton; her two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Sidney Swank; her brother, Kenny Swank, of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Rozycki, March 16, 2013.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greenlick Cemetery.
