Shirley M. (Welty) Russin, 86 of Kingview, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022. She was born on August 23, 1936, a daughter of the late Lyman and Edna (Echard) Welty. Shirley graduated from Scottdale Joint High School in 1954 and married Donald J. Russin on Christmas Day, December 25, 1956. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on October 20, 2000; her brother, Thomas Welty; her sister, Emma J. Dillon and husband Henry; her sister-in-law, Joan Bryer and husband Jim; her niece, Judith Todd and husband Carl; her grandchildren, Joshua and Joseph Simmons; her great grandson, Brent Adams Jr.; and her sons-n-law, Ronnie Jaworski and Tom Clements.
Shirley was a faithful member of Jacobs Creek United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer and was also a volunteer at Frick Hospital for five years. She loved her family, church, sewing, and baking.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving family; her children, Deborah Simmons-Jaworski of Scottdale, Donald J. Russin Jr. of LaBelle, Marianne Shrum and husband Walter of Uniontown, Lynn Clements of Fredricksburg, VA, Greg Russin of Scottdale, and Mike Russin and wife Beverly of RuffsDale; her grandchildren, Trisha (Jeff) Richey, Melissa (Delmar Jr) Hlatky, Amber (Adam) Pravlik, Angie Adams, Bobbie Clements, Jacinda (Darryl) McDonald, Blaine (Lara) Shrum, Mandi Lynn Higgins, Blake (Jesse) Yuhaniak, Brianna and Mikayla Russin, and Joshua Shrum; her great grandchildren, Christian (Aimee) Miller, Peyton Leichliter, Noah Miller, Susan and Reba Fosbrink, Tyler and Rylea Hlatky, Lila and Lorraine Adams, Hunter, Conner, Jeremiah, and Naomi, McDonald, Parker and Charlotte Yuhaniak, and Ayden Pravlik; and her great-great grandchildren, O'Beste and Pierre Brunache, Kaizhier Donaldson, and Keelo Ocasio; and her special niece, Lois (Ken) Bennett of Moncks Corner, SC, whom Shirley thought of like a daughter.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Viewing and visitation was held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 19, 2022 with Pastor Shawn Robbins officiating. Graveside committal service and interment next to her late husband followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Jacobs Creek United Methodist Church in her memory.
