Sara B. (Piper) Suter, 88, of Ruffsdale, passed away at 1:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Sara was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Joseph M. Sr. and Leona B. (Johnson) Piper. She was married to Quintin L. Suter Jr., who passed away Feb. 13, 2009. Sara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her family. She was previously employed as a switchboard operator at Excela Health Frick Hospital for 20 years, and was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, class of 1946. She also attended Penn State University and was a longtime and devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant. At the church, she was active in the Fellowship Group and volunteered as a faithful folder. She enjoyed her family, flowers, reading and country music. Sara will be sadly missed by her devoted family; her four children, Roger A. Suter and his wife, Linda, of Connellsville, V. Dale Suter and his wife, Linda, of Woodhaven, Mich., Linda Beveridge and her husband, George, of Greenwood, S.C., and Terry L. Suter and his wife, Brenda, of Scottdale; her nine grandchildren, Brian Suter and his wife, Kimee, Kyle Suter, Steven Suter and his wife, Lindsey, Stephanie Suter, Jeffrey Beveridge and his wife, April, Jennifer Tumblin and her husband, Al, Susan Beveridge and her fiance, Lee Wilson, Kara Crouser, and Kraig Suter and his wife, Caitlin; her eight great-grandchildren, Quintin P. Suter, Ashley Jackett-Tumblin, Madison Tumblin, Victoria Rodgers, Ben, Nick and Ava Crouser, and Kinley Suter; her sister, Rebekah N. Stants and her husband, Nelson, of Mt. Pleasant; her four brothers, Joseph M. Piper Jr. and his wife, Martha, of Greenville, Benjamin F. Piper and his wife, Joann, of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Denny Piper and his wife, Ellen, of Latrobe, and Curtis G. Piper, of Scottdale; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pet cat, Casper. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, James E. Piper. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Karen Thompson officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs.
