Ruth Ann Pleva, 88

of Vanderbilt (Franklin Township) passed away at 4:55 AM Monday, June 8, 2026 at her residence. Ruth was born on February 5, 1938 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late John and Edna (Firestone) Auer. She married John Pleva on September 5, 1992 and he passed away on May 20, 2022.


Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was employed for 30 years as the office manager for Music Power 104 WLSW Radio station. A graduate of the local high school and secretarial school, She led an active life gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, and enjoyed raising and caring for her chickens, horses, aquarium fish and taking long naps. Years ago she would water ski the entire Yough Lake. Her favorite shows on TV were: The Voice, Walking Dead, Whose Line is It Anyways, and crime and mystery series.


Ruth will be sadly missed by her loving family; her children, Steve Reagan and wife Peggy, Michelle Stoots and husband Matthew, and Jeffrey Reagan; her grandchildren, Leanne (Reagan) Wiltrout ( Brandon), Hailey Reagan (Shawn Graft), Alex Reagan (Jeanette Scholl), Emily Reagan (James Thompson), Amber Harvey, and Sam Ritenour; her great grandchildren, Bellamy, Rosalie, and Beckett Wiltrout and Logan, Gianna, and Oliver Reagan; her sisters-in-law, Mabel and Sandy Auer; her numerous nieces and nephews; along with her step-son, Wade “Herbie “ Nicholson; her ex-daughter-in- law, Joni Hann, Peggy and Craig Harvey, The Perry Family, Larry (Choma), and Diane (Stormy) Homer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-son, John Pleva; her mother-in-law, Mary Pleva; and her siblings, Harold and John Auer, and Wilma Harry and husband Bill.


Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 3-7 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 7 PM Friday with Elder Shane Essay officiating. The family expresses their appreciation to AHN Hospice nurses, Pam and Maggie and Alan from Meals on Wheels for their loving care.
