Ruth
Fleming
April 10, 1933 – January 6, 2023
Ruth D. Fleming, 89 of Dawson, went to her heavenly home on Friday evening, January 6, 2023 in the Mountain View Memory Care Center, Hempfield Township. Ruth was born April 10, 1933 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Adley C. and Ruth D. (Beeson) McCune. She was married to Leonard V. Fleming, who passed away on March 7, 2018.
Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1951, she was a longtime and faithful member of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Vanderbilt. Ruth retired from the Connellsville School District where she was employed for many years as a cafeteria manger. She loved her cats, enjoyed camping and was an avid reader.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her loving family; her three daughters, Diane Felton of New Stanton, Kathy Crayton and her husband Dan of Scottdale, and Janice Mong and her husband Fred of Dawson; her four grandchildren, Justin Widmer (Dana), Jessica Davis (Adam), Rachel Hagler (Ryan), and Nathaniel Felton (Felicia); her five great grandchildren, Jackson Hagler, Puller Felton, Eva Davis, Mason Felton, and Nora Davis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard D. Felton (4/24/2016); her sister, Mary Mitchell Griffin; and her four brothers, Bill, Eddie, Bobby, and Wally McCune.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH E. GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 Railroad Street, Dawson (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 11 AM - 2 PM Wednesday in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church, Vanderbilt where funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday with Pastor David McElroy officiating. Interment in Dickerson Run Union Cemetery, next to her late husband, will be private. Love Lasts Forever!
