Obituary

Ronald E. Geary, 84 of Dawson (Lower Tyrone Township), passed away at 5:05 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his daughter's home in Elizabeth. Ron was born on the Fourth of July, 1937, a son of the late Amos and Harriett (Hemminger) Geary. He married Edna K. (Shallenberger) Geary on August 23, 1965 and she passed away on March 30, 2018.

Ron was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Years ago he was employed at Allied Feed Mill in Everson and recently was a self-employed painter. He graduated from Perry Township High School, Class of 1955 and was a faithful member of Pennsville Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, traveling, and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. A veteran of the US Army, he served his country during peacetime.

Ron will be sadly missed by his loving family; his two daughters, Karla Bonnell and husband Chuck of Springdale, AR and Linda Prah and husband Jamie L. of Elizabeth; his seven grandchildren, Christopher McAbee, Cody McAbee (Bailey), Tyler, Jacob, and Jared Prah, Meagan Ribo (John), and Josh Bonnell; his great granddaughter, Emma McAbee; his sisters-in-law, Lucille and Pauline Geary; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Norman and Harold Geary.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Thursday followed by funeral services at 11 AM in Pennsville Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Bixel officiating. Private interment will be in Greenlick Cemetery next to his late wife. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow full military honors on Wednesday at 7:45 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors or the Pennsville Baptist Church. Love Lasts Forever!
