Ronald Lee Enos, 87 of Rostraver Township

(formerly of Lower Tyrone Township, Fayette County) passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026. Ron was born

on July 18, 1939, in Hulltown, PA, a son of the late Nevin B. Enos and Edna (Morrison) Moon Enos.

He was baptized in the Hickory Square Methodist Church at age 5 where he was a member. He also attended the Spring Grove Chapel, the Dawson Methodist Church, Trinity Lutheran Church of Connellsville, PA, two Lutheran Churches in Baltimore, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in

Jacksonville, FL, Mandarin Lutheran Church of Jacksonville, FL, and Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church of Jacksonville, FL.

Ron attended Lower Tyrone Township one-room schools through the 6th grade and the Perryopolis

Junior and High Schools. He graduated from the Perry Lower Tyrone School (Frazier) in 1957.

He worked at Fisher’s Clothing Store in Connellsville, Vance’s Cash and Carry in Dawson, and the

B&O RR (CSX) as a Telegraph Operator from 1957 until 1970. His lifetime desire was to be a radio

announcer. After attending Radio Announcing School in Pittsburgh, he began his radio career at WCVI in Connellsville. He then worked at WARD in Johnstown, PA. After that, worked at WEEP in Pittsburgh, PA, WMCK in McKeesport, PA, and WEDO in McKeesport. After a return to WCVI, he worked at WPQR in Uniontown, PA. Just couldn’t hold a job.

After Dolores told him to go get a real job (1977), that year he discovered that the railroad was hiring. He was hired on as a Clerk and Telegraph Operator. He moved up to Yard Master in Pittsburgh, Train Dispatcher, and Chief Dispatcher in Pittsburgh, PA. His next move was to Baltimore, Maryland as a Train Dispatcher and then to Jacksonville, Florida as a Train Dispatcher and Chief Train Dispatcher.

Following his retirement from the Railroad, he worked for LECMPA Job Insurance as a Marketing Director. He worked for 64 years.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Moon Logsdon; and wife Dolores Tremba Enos. Ron was survived by his loving wife Janet (Wingard) Lighthall Enos of 4 years; his stepdaughter Denise Steich Hutchens; his grandchildren Sierra Hutchens, Bryce Van Fleet, and Grant Van Fleet; his Daughters, Gretchen Enos James and Tammy Enos Ford; his Niece Sandi Logsdon Dolde and husband Donald; his nephew, Francis “Frannie” Gulosh; a number of cousins; and special friend and “Adopted Daughter” Kristina Byrnes, fiancé Chris Smartnick, Dalton Byrnes, and Riley Smartnick.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 21st from 3:00–7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Connellsville, on August 22nd at 11:00 AM.
