Robert E. Beal, 90, of Connellsville, passed away at 5:37 a.m., New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2022, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown. Bob was born on Valentines Day, Feb. 14, 1931, in Connellsville, a son of the late George Franklin and Marguerite A. (Hyatt) Beal, who passed away on July 21, 1934, and July 31, 1970, respectively. He married Ruth Ann (Overly) Beal on July 27, 1957, and she passed away on May 7, 2003.

Bob was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1948 and career veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a yeoman chief petty officer for 22 years from 1949-1971. He was assigned to the USS Northampton at Norfolk and later with the Navy Reserves. Years ago, he was an active member of the former First Baptist Church in Scottdale and was employed at Bell Telephone and at the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office's social service department in Connellsville. His enjoyment in life was going to casinos and having lunch with his buddies every morning. Bob will be sadly missed by his loving family, his sister, Doris Reynolds and his brother, Eugene Beal his wife Elsie, all of Connellsville; his wife's sister, Edith (Overly) Kubic and brother-in-law, Thomas Kubic; his longtime friend, John Pepe; and several nieces and nephews. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale ( www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson officiating. Chapel committal service and interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow full military honors in the funeral home prior to the service. Love Lasts Forever!
