Richard C. "Dick" Weisel, 83 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township), passed away at 11:45 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in Independence Health System's Greensburg Hospital, Greensburg. Dick was born October 25, 1940 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Ernest Grant and Dorothy (Christensen) Weisel. He married Judith Eileen (Davenport) Weisel on July 14, 1962.

Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was employed as a welder with Duraloy Blaw-Knox in Scottdale for 42 years before retirement. He was a longtime member of Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale, a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class 1958, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and working as a Ranger at Timber Ridge Golf Course. A veteran of the US Navy, Dick served as an E-3 designation during peacetime.

Dick will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 62 years, Judith Eileen (Davenport) Weisel; his three daughters, Wendy Whipkey of Connellsville, Holly Butler and husband Carl of Bullskin Township, and Vicky Kost and husband Steveof Lodi, OH; his seven grandchildren, Kyle Whipkey, Konnor Whipkey, Lyndsey Bellacima (Cody), Jacob Butler, Gracie Butler, Shelby Cahill, and Steven Kost; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Weisel; and his sister, Jean Leonard.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). At the request of the decedent, there will be no public viewing. A private memorial service was held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Lee Maley officiating. Full military honors were bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard. Memorials can be offered to the victims of Hurricane Milton in his memory. Love Lasts Forever!
