Richard "Jake" Secrest, 79, of Scottdale, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, in Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Jake was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Russell Levi and Nora (Swink) Secrest. He married JoAnn (Thompson) Secrest on Oct. 24, 1992. Jake was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a retired millwright, employed for many years at US Steel's Clariton Works. He was a faithful member of the Vanderbilt Church of Christ and Sunday School class. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially pontoon boating at Raystown Lake. Jake will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of nearly 26 years, JoAnn (Thompson) Secrest; his three children, Cheryl Deuel and husband, Richard, of Scottdale, Russell Richard Secrest, of Herminie, and Steven Secrest, of Smithton; his three stepchildren, Barbara Cortese and husband, Joe, of Connellsville, Nancy Sechrist and husband, Melvin, of Dawson, and Sam Kish and wife, Elaine, of Dickerson Run; and his numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Cortese.

Chapel committal services and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township.
