Richard Allen "Dick" Huffman Sr., 73 of Scottdale (Kingview) passed away at 2:57 AM Sunday morning, April 3, 2022 at his residence. Dick was born March 14, 1949, a son of the late Lloyd Milton and Violet Jean (Heasley) Huffman. He married Sandra (Chlebowski) Huffman on July 14, 1973.
Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a truck driver for Wicker Trucking and Cavanaugh Trucking for 31 years and as a veteran of the US Army, he served his country during the Vietnam War. Dick was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1967 and was a member of the Scottdale Fireman's, Scottdale Elks,and Bridgeport Sportsman's Clubs.
Dick will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 48 years, Sandra (Chlebowski) Huffman; his children, Richard Huffman and wife Kris of Connellsville and Debbie Ferencz and husband Joe of Mount Pleasant; his grandson, Alexander Ferencz; his step-grandson, James Ferencz and Jalesha; his step-great granddaughter, Addilynn Ferencz; his nephew, Timothy Szolek; and his pet dog, Rosie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Alice (Niswonger) Heasley; his paternal grandparents, Earl and Eva (Marker) Huffman; and his father and mother-in-law, Alex and Zelma Chlebowski.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-6 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel followed by funeral services at 6 PM Wednesday with Pastor Robert Bixel officiating. The Mt. Pleasant American Legion Honor Guard will bestow full military honors at 5:45 PM Wednesday prior to the funeral service. The family extends their appreciation to Medi-Hospice for their loving care.
