Richard E. Eberhart Jr., 64, of Scottdale, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at his residence. Rick was born Aug. 19, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Richard E. Eberhart Sr. and Nancy Guest, who passed away in 1982 and 1996, respectively. He was married to Roberta Keffer-Eberhart, who passed away in 2003. Rick's greatest accomplishment was the love of his life, Roberta Keffer-Eberhart. He was a self-employed truck driver for 35 years and had a safe driving record of 2,500,000 miles "Accident Free!" Rick was the best uncle to 14 nieces and nephews and to 28 great-nieces and great-nephews. A veteran of the Army, he served as a SP4 during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Rick will be sadly missed by his loving family: his brothers and sisters, Rebekah "Sue" Knopp and her husband, John, of Southwest, Betsy Weaver and her husband, Roy, of Grafton, Ohio, Michael Eberhart, of Scottdale, and Brett Eberhart and his wife, Sara, of Pleasant Unity. A special recognition to his lifelong friends, Peg and Vince Connors, thanks for all the coffee and cards!; and his dogs, Barkley and Oscar. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Eldridge Eberhart III, in 1976. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
