Raymond E. Felgar, 53, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Scottdale, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at his residence. Raymond was born March 2, 1963, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Anna June (Stull) Felgar Lender, of Monroeville, and the late Samuel H. Felgar, who passed away in January, 1986. Raymond was a professor in the Department of Pathology at UPMC, Pittsburgh, and the director of the Hematopathology Fellowship Program. Years ago, he worked at the University of Rochester, N.Y. A graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1981, Penn State University, where he received a degree in microbiology, and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, awarded a MD and PHD designation. He lectured at various medical conferences across the country, enjoyed back road biking and traveling across Europe. In addition to his mother, Anna June (Stull) Felgar Lender, of Monroeville, he is survived by his brother, Philip E. Felgar, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; his loving Shih Tzu, Bootsie; and his aunts, Dorothy Johnson, of Scottdale, Muriel Booher and Marjorie Coughenour, both of Connellsville, Martha Tietze, of Hermine, and Edith Kelley, of Belle Vernon; and numerous cousins.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Shirer officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
