PATRICK BRUCE DEEGAN, 71 of Greensburg (formerly of Scottdale), passed away from complications of kidney and Alzheimer's diseases at 6:13 AM, Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Oak Hill Nursing Center, Hempfield Township. Patrick was born June 12, 1945 in Manhattan, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Marcelle (Simon) Deegan.
Patrick was a devoted father, grandfather, and a retired mechanical engineer, lastly working with Lockheed Martin Corporation. He received his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and also attended the University of Pennsylvania, the Naval Academy, and Carmelite Seminary in Hamilton, MA. He was a faithful member of the Partner Parish of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Scottdale where years ago he served as a Eucharistic minister. A veteran of the US Military, he served during the Vietnam War, coached YMCA youth soccer, and enjoyed golfing, running, biking, and reading.
Patrick will be incredibly missed by his loving family; his four children, Mary Chain of South Park, Sean Deegan and his wife Nancy of Tempe, AZ, Timothy Deegan and his wife Amy of Winchester, VA, and Sara Deegan and her husband Brian Popernack of Greensburg, and their mother, Elizabeth Ladue of Mt. Pleasant; his seven grandchildren, Megan Driving Hawk, Payton, Ellison, Molly, and Ainsley Deegan, and Genevieve and Charles Popernack; his three siblings, Phillip Deegan and his wife Barbara of Manassas, VA, Thierry Deegan and his wife Patti Confort of Providence, RI, and Nicole Curreri of Brick, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Deegan.

Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 AM Wednesday in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale with Rev.
