Patricia "Tish" (Horn) Kiefer, 89, of Scottdale, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, in Westmoreland Hospital. She was born June 22, 1926, in Scottdale, daughter of the late Ralph E. and Margaret McClain Horn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, whom she married in 1951; her sister, Mona Ruth "Ruthie" Horn; and her brother, Ralph Horn Jr. She is survived by her four children, Kirby (Diane) Kiefer, of Gettysburg, Lindsey (Kathy) Kiefer, of State College, Melissa (Glenn) Tunney, of Grindstone, and Jan (Gauri) Kiefer, of Scottdale; and five grandchildren, Andrew Kiefer, Brian Kiefer, Kristen Tunney, Kelly Tunney and Pooja Tripathi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tish graduated from Scottdale High School in 1944 and received her R.N. from Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh (now UPMC) in 1947. She did a lot of home health nursing before visiting nurses were popular. She also helped Dr. Earl B. Gilbert in his office, and she volunteered for the Red Cross blood donation drives. Tish was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church of Scottdale. There will be no visitation, with private graveside services at Scottdale Cemetery under the supervision of ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
