Nancy N. (Whoric) Peebles, 81, of Vanderbilt, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at her residence. Nancy was born March 7, 1939, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Matthew and Helen (Ellenberger) Whoric. She married Robert A. Peebles on April 4, 1963, and he passed away on Jan. 19, 2018.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She formerly was employed in the shoe department at Pechins in Dunbar and was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1957. She also worked, years ago, at Anchor Hocking Glass and Troutman's in Connellsville. Nancy was affiliated with the Vanderbilt United Methodist Church and enjoyed caring for her family, cleaning her home, and the company of her cats.

Nancy will be sadly missed by her loving family, her son, Robert "Bobby" Peebles of Vanderbilt; her two sisters, Cynthia Rath and husband Bill and Lois McKee, all of Vanderbilt; her two brothers, Jim Whoric and wife Betty of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Joe Lee Whoric of Phoenix, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews; her special cousin, Renee Brady; her special friends, Annora Doyle and Linda Lowther; and her loyal cat, Baby. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Caplin (2002); and her brother, Donald "Jack" Whoric (2019).
