Nancy J. (Kelley) Ober, 73, of Dawson, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 27, 2015. Nancy was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Englewood, N.J., a daughter of the late Roy and Pauline (Baer) Kelley. She married her loving husband, Robert N. "Bob" Ober, on May 14, 1960. Nancy began her working life as head bookkeeper for First National Bank of Arlington, Va., where she ran the earliest version of the Buroughs IBM computer. Nancy then worked at the First National Bank in Scottdale. After retiring from the bank, she founded the Brownfield Community Center Library, where she continued to volunteer for almost 20 years of service prior to her declining health. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Negich and her husband, Jeff, of Dawson; and her son, Robert Ober and his wife, Terri, of Fort Mill, S.C.; her five grandchildren, Jeffrey Malik and wife, Megan, of Brentwood, Tenn., Lacey Slavin and husband, Todd, of Greensburg, Larissa Malik, of Eustis, Fla., and Payton and Tessa Ober, of Fort Mill; her two great-grandchildren, Tara and Corey Slavin; her sister, Doris Eutsey, of Dawson; her brother, R. Douglas Kelley, of Everson; several nieces and nephews; her best friend, Vonnie Phillips; and her beloved dog, Abby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Renz. At Nancy's request, there will be no public viewing or visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
