Mildred G. Fry Obituary
Mildred G. (Adams) Fry, 100, of Greensburg, formerly of Scottdale, passed Monday, June 27, 2016, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Mildred was born Sept. 19, 1915, in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Clifford D. and Sadie Amelia (Felgar) Adams, who passed away Aug. 12, 1982, and Feb. 19, 1982, respectively. She was married to James R. Fry, who passed away July 1, 1978. Mildred was a devoted mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. Years ago, she was employed in the etching department at Westinghouse in Youngwood, retiring in 1977. She was a faithful member of the Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton and was a loyal volunteer at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, for many years. A graduate of East Huntingdon High School, she also was an active member for years with the Bullskin and Scottdale Senior Citizens. Mildred will be sadly missed by her loving family: her two children, James "Jim" Fry and his wife, Rosemary, of Greensburg, and Doris "Dori" Lowe and her husband, Wally, of Scottdale; her five grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Von Lowe, in 1997; a sister; and several brothers.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com / GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Lee Kline officiating. Private committal service and interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township.
