Michael Francis "Buck" Smith, 61, of Mt. Pleasant Township, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022. Mike was born May 8, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Arthur F. "Yuckie" and Doris L. (Cunningham) Smith. Mike was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1978, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at Seven Springs Mountain Resort and previously worked with Sewell Plastics in New Stanton and as a lineman with Warner Cable in North Carolina and Ohio. Mike will be sadly missed by his loving family; his parents, Arthur F. and Doris L. (Cunningham) Smith; his wife, Georganne Smith; his three children, April (Brian) Rowan, of Florida, and Patrick and Zachary Smith, both of Irwin; his two grandsons, Brian Henry and Steven Thomas Rowan; his siblings, Karen (Russell) Christner, Anita Smith and Alexis Prinkey, all of Everson, Deanna (Clair) McFadden, of Connellsville, Deirdre Cyphert, of Scottdale, and Derek (Sue Grantz) Smith, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Helen (Sommerfield) Smith and Harry "H.B." and Eva Mae (Shallenberger) Cunningham.
