Melvin D. Hensel Sr., 68, of Donegal, passed away at 3:15 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Melvin was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Connellsville, a son of the late Howard E. and Sarah Olive (Traugh) Hensel. He was married to Robin D. (Lankey) Hensel, who passed away July 12, 2015. Melvin was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Years ago, he was employed in the construction field. Melvin will be sadly missed by his loving family; his five children, Michelle Grimm, of Mill Run, Melvin D. Hensel Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Melcroft, Michael Hensel and wife, Tina, of Rillton, Scott Hensel and wife, Nancy, of Donegal, and Christina Hensel, of Mt. Pleasant; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his three sisters, Beverly Curvy and husband, Jim, of Ravenna, Ohio, Melody Burkett and husband, Bill, of Rockwood, and Robin Donaldson and husband, Chuck, of White; his three brothers, Glenn Hensel, of White, Thomas Hensel and wife, Louann, of Indian Head, and Mark Hensel, of Rockwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special canine, Teddy. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Howard "Sonny" and Gene "Randy" Hensel.

At the request of the decedent, there will be no viewing, visitation or service. Final resting place will be in Byerly Freeman Cemetery.
