Melinda S. Castin, 66, of Scottdale, passed away at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., surrounded by her loving family. Melinda was born March 20, 1952, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Genevieve (Lieb) King. Melinda married Robert "Bob" Castin July 20, 1974. Melinda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a retired elementary school teacher, teaching first and second grade with Southmoreland School District. Melinda was a faithful and active member of Pennsville Baptist Church where she played piano for the children's ministry. She also was a member of the Quilt Guild and Health Council. Melinda enjoyed quilting, traveling and reading with her grandchildren. Melinda will be sadly missed by her loving family, her husband of close to 44 years, Robert "Bob" Castin; her three children and grandchildren, Mark Castin, of Scottdale and his son, Avery, Laura VanBrocklin and husband, Zack, of Canfield, Ohio and her daughter, Aubrey, and Sarah Lavezzo and husband, Nick and her, daughter, Lydia, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her brother, Tim King, of Hidden Valley; several nieces and nephews; and her walking partner, Daisy! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David King.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in Pennsville Baptist Church, followed by funeral services to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Terry Murray and the Rev. Robert Bixel co-officiating. Final resting place will be in Scottdale Cemetery.
