Matthew R. "Matt" Catalina, 65, of Scottdale, passed away at 10:21 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at his residence. Matt was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Matthew and Virginia "Jean" (Suchocki) Catalina. Matt was a retired machinist, last working for Avanti Engineering & Manufacturing Inc. Years ago, he was employed by Robertshaw Controls in Youngwood. A graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1969, he was an accomplished wrestler, winning the Westmoreland County Championship his senior year. He also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Matt will be sadly missed by his loving family; his brother, Kenneth "Ken" Catalina and his wife, Anne, of Acme; his sister, Carol Nagazina and her husband, Larry, of Coopersburg; his two nieces, Nicole Cook and her husband, Keith, and Emily Weaver and her husband, Mark; and his great-nephew and great-niece, Steven and Paige.
