Mary Margaret (Thomas) Bordas, 76, of Dickerson Run, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family at her bedside.

Mary was born April 18, 1942, in Gates, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Mallory) Thomas.

She married George E. Bordas Sr. on Jan. 15, 1963.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She graduated from German Township High School with the Class of 1960 and years ago, worked as a cashier and manager of the toy and garden department at the former Ames Department Store at Laurel Mall. She served as a notary and enjoyed bingo and visiting casinos.

Mary will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband of 55 years, George E. Bordas Sr.; her daughter, Tanya Bordas and friend Mike Showman; her siblings, Ronald Thomas and wife Clarissa of Shepard, Texas, Marlene Deal and husband Donald of Grindstone, Dwayne Thomas and wife Debbie of Republic, Linda Hamm and husband Leslie of Santa Clarita, Calif., Paul Thomas and wife Patty of Masontown, Lois Matis and husband George of Republic, Anthony Thomas of Filbert, Mark Thomas and wife Marden of Masontown, and Gary Thomas and wife June of McClellandtown; her special aunt, Kay Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, George E. Bordas Jr.; and her two brothers, Elmer Thomas Jr. and Robert Thomas.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Ralph E. Galley Funeral Home, 501 Railroad St., Dawson, 724- 529-2611, www.fergusonfunerals.com. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Father Bob Lubic as facilitator.

Chapel committal service and interment will follow in Dickerson Run Cemetery.

Special thanks is extended to her nurse, Cindy Soisson; all her caregivers, Diane Mulnix, Beth Hensel, Pam McKeel, Kelly Lowery, and Sandy Murray; her sister, Marlene Deal, who came every Tuesday to care for her; her brother, Dwayne Thomas, who cleaned for her; and her hairdresser, Kathy Andolino, who pampered her every week.
