Martha M. Hampshire, 85, of Scottdale, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, in Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Martha was born July 25, 1930, in Lower Tyrone Township, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Bernice (Graft) Zgorecki Walton. She was married to John H. Hampshire, who passed away on June 14, 1996. Martha was a devoted mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She was employed, years ago, as a machine operator at Connellsville Sportswear and was a faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Scottdale. Martha also was a loyal member of the Catholic Daughters of America, No. 314 and a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, class of 1948, with whom she was active in their class reunions. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and flowers. Martha will be sadly missed by her loving family: her four children, David Hampshire, of Mesa, Ariz., Teresa Perius, of Rock Springs, Wyo., Mary Cuneo and her husband, Joseph, of Mt. Pleasant, and Vincent Hampshire, of Scottdale; her six grandchildren, Michelle Hampshire, Mari Norton and husband, Dave, Haley and Derek Perius, and Mitchell and Angela Cuneo; her four great-grandchildren, Asher and Zoe Norton and Kelsie and Kayla Hampshire; her great-great-grandson, Ebin; her two sisters, Jane Hegedus and Shirley Jubec, both of Scottdale; her brother, Carl Walton, of Tarrs; her two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hampshire, of Connellsville, and Phyllis Minerd and husband, Mike of Rockwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Walton. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel where parting prayers will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Andrew Kawecki as celebrant. Graveside committal service and interment next to her late husband will follow in the church cemetery. The Ministry of Consultation will hold a service at 7:45 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
