Obituary

Marian "Midge" Mandella, 89, of Ligonier, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018. She was born July 10, 1929, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Leonard and Jessie (Crawford) Seinar. She married Bernard A. Mandella Nov. 23, 1950, and he passed away Nov. 12, 2006. Midge retired from Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, and throughout her life, she adored nature, animals and writing poetry. Both she and her husband enjoyed roller skating, bowling, fishing and playing golf, as they were members of the following country clubs through the years: Youghiogheny, Ligonier, Latrobe and Pleasant Valley. They enjoyed their home and yard, which was full of beautiful flowers--including their fondness for dahlias. Known to be a fond animal advocate, she loved her cat, Ebony, and many dogs during her life. Midge is survived by her sister, Anna Krause, of Jefferson Hills; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret "Betty" Lennon and Ina Hreha, both of McKeesport.
