Mabel L. (Sleasman) Rolla, 90, of Scottdale, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at her residence. Mabel was born in 1927 in Indian Head, a daughter of the late Jesse M. and Emma F. (Whetsel) Sleasman. She was married to William S. Rolla, who passed away March 9, 2009. Mabel was a devoted mother and sister. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale and was active with the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the kitchen committee. Years ago, she was a selector at Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville, worked at Woolworth in Scottdale, and held membership with the Order of Eastern Star. Mabel enjoyed gardening and homemaking. Mabel will be sadly missed by her loving family, her son, Michael S. Rolla, of Hillsboro, Mo.; her sister, Mardelle Gary, and her husband, James, of Donegal; two sisters-in-law, Betty Rolla and Lucille Rolla; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Sleasman; and her brother, Melvin "Pickles" Sleasman.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with her pastor, the Rev. Daniel Clark, officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township, next to her late husband.
