Obituary

Luneta J. Lape, 80, of Scottdale, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Lou was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Lower Tyrone Township, a daughter of the late Washington Morris and Suzanna (Rimmel) Etling. She was married to C. Edward Lape, who passed away Jan. 23, 2013. Luneta was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lou was a former employee at Connellsville Sportswear and a member of Wooddale Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandbabies, and "going down the road"! Lou was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Luneta will be sadly missed by her loving family; her three children, John E. Lape, of Latrobe, Lora L. Kendi, of Greensburg, and Kimberly Wasil and husband, Edmund, of Mt. Pleasant; her six grandchildren, Andrea Pergar (Matthew), Mark Wasil (Meghan), Bryan Kendi (Jilian), Ashleigh Dine (Steve), Jennifer Sebek (Jonathan) and Jonathon Kendi (Kayla); her six great-grandchildren, Adalyne, Landon, Carson, Joseph, Emerson and Samuel; her two step-grandchildren, Kayne Newcomer (Meghan) and Lee Newcomer (Corianne) and their children; her siblings, William Etling, Nellie Hone, Hazel Loretta Newell, Naomi Cossell, Margaret Winemiller, Anna Mae Holland (James) and Sandra Ribniscky (George); her special friends, Cheryl and Bob Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jennie Clark, Glenn, Ira, Philip and Albert Etling, Mary Ramiser and Nancy Pitts.
Arrangements are under the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Nelson Confer officiating.
