Obituary

Lucille Louise (Costello) Rolla, 87, of Scottdale, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at her residence.

Lucille was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Clarence Martin and Katherine Martha (Dinda) Costello.

She was married to Edgar R. Rolla, who passed away on March 9, 2016.

Lucille was a devoted mother and a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Evangelical Church in Scottdale. She was employed, years ago, at Mc- Crory's 5 and 10 in Scottdale and at Burns Drug Store and Anchor Hocking in Connellsville. Lucille was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1949, and was involved for more than 70 years with the Girl Scouts as a Brownie, Junior, and Cadet Leader. She was named Scottdale Citizen of the Year in 2006, volunteered at Scottdale Showtime, was a former president of the Scottdale Women's Garden Club, and enjoyed baking wedding and birthday cakes.

Lucille will be sadly missed by her loving family: her daughter, Martha Banks and her husband Georg of Scottdale; her sister, Frances "Frannie" O'Neal and husband Don of Ohio; her two brothers, James Costello and wife Carolyn and Ronald "Mike" Costello and wife Sandy, all of Connellsville; her sisters-in-law, Vi Costello and Joann Costello, both of Connellsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Costello, Arzella Huffman, William Costello, infant John Costello, Janet Shaw, Catherine "Cassie" Ringer, Paul Costello, and Dolores Long.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887- 5300, www.fergusonfunerals.com. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with her pastor, the Rev. Daniel Clarke, officiating.

Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township.
