Lois Ann Van Grootenbruel, of Bear Rocks, Acme, formerly of Murrysville, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. She was the loving wife and life partner to Robert "Van" Van Grootenbruel. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage in August. She was born and raised in Butler, the youngest of three children of Aloysius and Frances Lehnerd. She was preceded in death by brother, Skip Lehnerd and his wife, Rosemary, of Baltimore; and sister, Helen Bachman and husband, Mel, of Butler; and son-in-law, Barry Watson, of Greensburg. Lois is survived by her husband, Van; children, Carrie Trout (Paul), of Acme, Craig Van Grootenbruel (Laith), of Frederick, Md., and Caryn Watson, of Frederick, Md. She was Grand-ma-ma to Colleen, Bailey, Peter, Scott, Cory, and grand-dog, Casey. She will forever be remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She enjoyed time spent assisting Van in real estate. Lois was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church, of Mt. Pleasant, and a member of the Roadman-White American Legion Auxiliary.
Final arrangements are being handled by the FERGUSON AND GALLEY FUNERAL HOMES, Scottdale. A memorial service will be held in the spring of this year.
