Obituary

Lois Mae Lynn, 89, of Scottdale passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in AHN's Forbes Regional Medical Center, Monroeville . She was born on August 9, 1934 in Mount Pleasant PA to the late Joseph Lloyd and Catharine Blanche (Shoemaker) Watson.


Lois is survived by her three Children, Frank Jr (Nancy), Jeanne Kiss (John), and David (Barbara), their four grandchildren Patrick, David Jr (Mariah), Danielle (Nicholas), and Megan, three great granddaughters Anna, Sofia, Charlotte and one sister Lucy Watson. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, who she married February 26, 1955, her sisters Luella Watson and Lorraine Watson Wells; and a son in law John Kiss.


The family also wants to recognize their great friends that helped both Lois and her husband Frank as they aged, Bonnie, Mary, Kelly, Jan, and Sue, and more recently the wonderful staff at New Haven and AHN Hospice.


Lois graduated from Scottdale High School in 1952 where she was always rated in the top of her class. Initially she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in the Scottdale office. She became a homemaker with the birth of her first son, and she remained a steadfast provider of loving support for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Lois is a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school there while her children were young. She will be fondly remembered with her beloved pets throughout her life. Sandy, Tikka and Nikki were beloved dogs and Molly the cat was her most recent companion. She loved to travel, hike, fish and cross country ski.  Lois was an accomplished seamstress.  She was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed preparing everything from a quick picnic to a traditional holiday feast. Lois enjoyed nature, flowers and animals with a passion for identifying wildflowers, and birds. She and Frank could be found on the trails surrounding Ohiopyle on most weekends.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale.


Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (http://www.fergusonfunerals.com). At the request of the decedent, there will be no viewing or visitation. Private inurnment will be held in Scottdale Cemetery at a later date. Love Lasts Forever!
