Obituary

Lois J. (Smith) Johnson, 68, of Connellsville, Upper Tyrone Township, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Lois was born Aug. 3, 1947, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late William and Ida (Frye) Smith. She was married to Leroy F. Johnson, who passed away July 24, 2008. Lois was devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She worked as a pharmacy technician at the former Monsour Hospital in Jeannette and years ago at Eckert Pharmacy. She graduated from East Huntingdon High School and was a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church in Scottdale, where she was Sunday school superintendent, teacher and secretary. Lois also led the children's church and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Lois will be sadly missed by her loving family: her two daughters, Sherri L. Johnson Driscoll, of Connellsville, and Lori Johnson Suitor and her husband, James of Scottdale; her three granddaughters, Kayla and Leisha Driscoll and Megan Johnson; her great-grandson, Colton; her four step-grandchildren, Kathryn and husband, Paul, Kayla and husband, Joshua, Rosemary and James Jr.; her sister, Carolyn Porter, of Scottdale; several nieces and nephews; and her special niece, Ruthie DeLuca. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Carl Johnson (1965); her brother, William Smith; and her sister, Judith Ovitsky. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in First Assembly of God Church, Scottdale, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Domer Snyder officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Scottdale Cemetery. Love Lasts Forever!
