Larry R. Schwartz, 80 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away peacefully at 11:45 PM Monday, October 31, 2022 in Eicher's Personal Care Home, Normalville. Larry was born March 1, 1942 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Robert Schwartz Sr. and Alice Bernice (King) Schwartz. He married Patricia (Newcomer) Schwartz on June 6, 1962.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1960 and was employed as a supervisor at the former Modulus Corporation, Fayette Steel, Marwas Steel, and at Steel Storage. A proud veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he served in the US Air Force and Air Force Police. He was a member and held the position of deacon at Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Scottdale and enjoyed hunting and being with his children and grandchildren in the outdoors!
Larry will be sadly missed by his loving family; his four sons, Mark Schwartz and wife Kim, Shawn Schwartz and wife Denise, Eric Schwartz and wife Jennifer, and Chad Schwartz and wife Rebecca; his seven grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; his siblings, Rita J. Corley, Gregory Schwartz, and Tim Schwartz and wife Alexandria; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Michael Schwartz; and his siblings, Thomas Mark Schwartz, Robert Schwartz Jr., Karen Jannsens, and Margo Frock.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Private memorial services with Pastor Lee Kline officiating and full military honors bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard was held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice in Larry's memory. Love Lasts Forever!
