Larry "LJ" Jones, 65 of Scottdale, passed away at 7:02 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021 in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant. Lj was born June 6, 1955in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Lawrence O. "Deacon" and Mary Belle (Ansell) Jones.

LJ was a devoted brother and uncle, who graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1973 where he excelled in basketball. He was employed for many years as a fork lift operator at Anchor Hocking Glass in South Connellsville. LJ was a lifelong and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Scottdale where he sang in the choir. A noted vocalist, LJ took pride in singing at weddings, funerals and Karaoke. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and was a member of the PA State United Methodist Basketball Championship Team years ago.

LJ will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends; his sister, Mary Carole Hixson of Scottdale; his niece, Robin Roth and her husband Tim of Scottdale; his great nephew and nieces, Tyler, Emily, and Jenna; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Jones (7-14-1954); and his brother-in-law, Ronald Hixson (3-20-2020).
