Obituary

Kathleen U. (Williams) Owens, 87, of Scottdale, passed away early Monday morning, June 19, 2017, at her residence. Kathleen was born July 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Michael A. Williams and Julia (Rega) Williams. She is survived by her husband, William H. Owens Sr. after a wonderful 65 years of marriage. They were married on April 14, 1952. Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and served as the bookkeeper for her husband's dental practice. They were also co-owners of the franchise "I Can't Believe It's Yogurt" in Mt. Pleasant from 1989-1994. Kathleen enjoyed bowling in a mixed couple's league and numerous card clubs with friends. The family loved traveling, spending time camping and at Myrtle Beach. Kathleen is survived by the couple's three children, William H. (Terri) Owens Jr., Deborah A. Owens, and Diane C. (Ron) Byers; grandchildren, Samantha (Ed) Hirshberg, Michael (Mallory) Owens, Gina (Jon) Ledwich, Ariel (Kaleb) Cypher, and Aleia (Joel Humbrecht) Byers; great-grandchildren, Juliette, Benjamin, Helena, Walter, James, Esme, and Liam, along with two more on the way. She also loved spending time with her granddogs, Jojo and Kramer; and her cat, Maizie. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, where Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed at 10 a.m. by a Funeral Mass in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Andrew Kawecki as celebrant. Graveside committal service and interment will be in the church cemetery. The ministry of consolation will hold prayers at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathleen's life.

The family would like to thank Dr. Means, and the nurses from Amedisys Hospice, especially Carol, Jill, Dana, Ashley, and Lisa.
