Karen F. Nicholson, 75 of Mount Pleasant (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 10:47 pm Monday, August 29, 2022 at her residence. Karen was born August 1, 1947 in Mount Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late William Rayburn and Janet LaVerne (Marks) Leeper. She married Glen E. Nicholson on April 14, 1992.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a graduate of Hurst High School, Class of 1966 and the Westmoreland Business School. Karen worked for many years as a secretary at the First United Church of Christ in Greensburg and at the Mount Pleasant WalMart.

Karen will be sadly missed by her loving family; her husband of 30 years, Glen E. Nicholson; her two children, Duane Smoker of Ligonier and Dale Smoker and wife Angie of Mount Pleasant; her two step-children, Sherry Koch and husband Frank and Glen S. Nicholson and wife Janie, all of Scottdale; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her three sisters, LeaLonie Dombrowsky of Kecksburg, Wanda Ritenour of Arona, and Kathy Leeper of Mammoth; her two brothers, Melvin Leeper and wife Leanne of Mount Pleasant and Kenneth "Barney" Leeper and wife Sue of Humphreys; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Murray.
