June Eileen Bandemer, 86, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Scottdale, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. She was born July 18, 1930, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Albert William and Grace Olive (McGuffey) Bandemer. June was a graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1948, received a Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College, a Master in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and was bestowed a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne School of Law. June was a medical librarian with the University of Pittsburgh Health Services Library for 39 years prior to retiring. A longtime faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale, in recent years she was affiliated with Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh. She was also a member of the Ohio Municipal League in Columbus, Ohio. June enjoyed culture and the arts, attending operas and symphonies and loved to travel. June will be sadly missed by her loving cousins and many friends. In addition to her cousins and friends, she is also survived by her loving church family at Church of the Ascension.
At the request of the decedent, there will be no viewing or visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at Tarrs, with the Rev. Daniel Clark officiating. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, Church of the Ascension, Pittsburgh.
