Obituary

Judith A. (Porter) Stoner, 79, formerly of Scottdale, passed away peacefully at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at Easy Living Country Estates, Hunker. Judy was born April 13, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Albert William "Bill" and Ivalean (Finley) Porter, who passed away Dec. 9, 2006, and Oct. 19, 2014, respectively. She is now back with the love of her life and husband of 44 years, Ronald E. Stoner, who passed away Sept. 7, 2008. Before retiring, she served as executive secretary for Scottdale Borough and was a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, in Scottdale. Judy was an avid reader and dedicated supporter of the Scottdale Public Library. She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping and fishing. Judy was the best caregiver and had a heart of gold. Judy will be sadly missed by her loving family; her two children, Stacey Kite and husband, Brian, of Tarrs, and William Douglas Stoner and wife, Marsha, of Bullskin Township; her five grandchildren, Jacob Stoner (Ashley), Chelsea Couchenour (Josh), Christopher Couchenour (Angel), Brandon Kite (Ali) and Megan Hosty (Ben); her five great-grandchildren, Lawson, Christopher Jr. "CJ", Bryson, Freya and Jude; and her brother, Clarence "Sonny" Porter and wife, Cheryl, of Scottdale. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Janet Lord officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Barren Run Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband. The family would like to thank the staff at Easy Living Country Estates and Heritage Hospice for their love and dedication.
